Our CEO Timo Jokinen cycles to Paris as part of the Team Rynkeby charity campaign!

Team Rynkeby is a European charity cycling team. Every summer the teams cycle to Paris to raise money for seriously ill children. Team Rynkeby was founded in 2002, when 11 amateur cyclists associated with Rynkeby Foods A/S decided to cycle to Paris to see the final stage of the Tour de France.

Rynkeby Foods was the main sponsor of their trip, which was also backed by other companies. In fact, the cyclists who joined the world’s first Team Rynkeby team were so accomplished at finding sponsors that, when the team returned to Denmark just over a week later, the team had made € 5,100 profit. Team Rynkeby donated their profits to the children’s cancer unit at Odense University Hospital. A tradition was born.

Throughout most of the year, not only must members be prepared to cycle the 1,200-kilometre trip to Paris, they are also obliged to do what they can to raise money for children with critical illnesses.

All participants in Team Rynkeby cover their own costs for bike, Team Rynkeby bike wear, helmet and hotel, while the project’s main costs are shared between Eckes-Granini, through its brands Rynkeby, God Morgon, Granini, and the collected funds. There will never be more than 12 % of the collected funds spent for administration costs. In 2023, Team Rynkeby donated 9,179 million Euro to organisations that help children with critical illnesses.

POAS donated money for critically ill children

Our CEO Timo Jokinen joined the Team Rynkeby Tampere team cycling to Paris in July 2025. The trip took seven days and covered over 1,200 kilometers. Their trip went well and our CEO could complete the entire journey by bike, without having to ride the maintenance vehicle during the journey.

“I was drawn in by the team spirit, the goal-oriented training, and the opportunity to support a good cause. In addition to getting physical exercise, you get to do important charity work for children. It was a great experience, and I recommend it to everyone!”

We supported our CEO in his journey by donating money to the campaign. POAS does not send Christmas cards or gifts to our cooperation partners, since we donate those funds for a better purpose every year. Last Christmas we donated the Christmas money to the Team Rynkeby charity campaign to support critically ill children.
